Cops Instigate Riot on Halloween During Massive Police Raid for “Illegal Dancing”

Lambeth, UK – A massive Halloween rave called, “Scumoween: A Nightmare On Scum Street” drew thousands of people this weekend, but was unfortunately raided by riot police halfway through the evening. Prior to the event, the organizers were planning for a possible police interruption and made a statement asking those attending to not engage directly with police.

The statement, released on Wednesday, said, “Stay peaceful, stay calm. Patience and numbers is in our favour. Do not antagonize the police. We don’t need to. At the end of the day we want to leave them remembering our good attitudes, we just came to dance, we are not their enemy.”

Sadly, the police managed to instigate a riot when they showed up to shut down the party, and they were prompted to call in hundreds of reinforcements to help battle the partygoers.

An updated message on the event’s Facebook page, posted after the disturbance, accused police of “bashing people senseless” and “letting their dogs go at people almost unrestrained”.

“The police were not interested to talk through peaceful resolutions,” the message added.

Police representatives said that crowds threw bottles, set fires, and chanted “scum” and “pigs” at riot police during the clash.

“As well as attacking police the group also caused criminal damage to private vehicles and property in the area,” a police spokesperson told BBC.

Last year, at an event hosted by the same crew, the police were forced to retreat and create a perimeter around the party, unable to go in.

Earlier this month it was reported that a similar sized rave ended peacefully when police decided to allow the rave to continue because it would be safer for the people inside.
